The city of Matsuyama is not just famous for its castle<\/a>. It is also home to the Dogo Onsen<\/a>, one of the oldest and most famous hot springs in all of Japan. Unfortunately, most of the traditional buildings of the Dogo Onsen are currently under scaffolding as part of a multi-year restoration project. But parts of the building are uncovered, and as I explored their hallways, I came across a courtyard that contained an art installation by Mika Ninagawa<\/a>. This installation consisted of hundreds of photographs of bright and vibrantly coloured flowers, and it more than made up for the disappointment of the scaffolding. It was a beautiful way to bring a contemporary touch to such a traditional place, and I loved it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
