Okay, I need some help to understand today’s daily helping. YouTube’s algorithm saw fit to send me this video<\/a> of Zazu legwork from Lagos, and I was immediately riveted. I have no cultural understanding of the dancing on display, but I love it. It’s raw, powerful, and frenetic, and I couldn’t take my eyes off of those dancers. But as longtime readers of The Daily Hart know, I never want to just enjoy art. I want to learn about it. I want to understand fully what I’m experiencing, and I love learning about the cultural context of each artwork.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Which brings me to why I send help with today’s daily helping. Google is being maddeningly unhelpful in my quest to learn more about this video. I’ve tried multiple different search terms to try and learn more about just what exactly zazu legwork is, and every time I keep getting a list of the origins of the name Zazu and Lion King memes. So either I’ve somehow hit on something so avant garde, no one has written about it yet. Or I’ve completely misunderstood the title of this video and I’m using the wrong search terms. I’m willing to bet every penny I own that it’s the later, because I’m simply not cool enough to be on the forefront of any type of trend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Therefore, if anyone can enlighten me, please let me know. What is Zazu legwork? What type of dance is this? And what is the historical and cultural context behind this art form? I genuinely want to learn more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
