This is embarrassing. I saw the piece pictured above at the Ce qui s\u2019oublie et ce qui reste<\/a><\/em> exhibition at the Mus\u00e9e National de l\u2019Histoire de l\u2019Immigration \u00e0 Paris. This exhibition was being presented in partnership with the Mus\u00e9e d\u2019Art Contemporain Africain Al Maaden, and featured artworks from artists of the African diaspora. The exhibition was incredible, but I was particularly taken by the piece above. It was massive, spanning several stories, and yet the images contained within the strips of fabric were intricate and impossibly detailed. It was a beautiful contradiction, and I spent a lot of time just gazing up at it. And then I promptly forgot to note the name of the artist and artwork.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, I still wanted to share this beautiful work of art, despite my colossal brain fart. So here it is. I sincerely apologize to the artist for the lack of name recognition in today’s helping. Please know that I love your work and I feel privileged to have seen it in person.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
