Today’s daily helping is another animated short film that starts off adorably and very quickly turns very grim. Who knew a film about cake ornaments could have so much to say about domestic violence, gender roles, and the power of women sticking together? But believe me when I say that Piece of Cake has a lot to say about all of the above. It’s another fantastic film from the future of animation. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. The future is in good hands.
