Daily Helping for March 2nd, 2021 – Cyberpunk City – Nerdforge

The painting Cyberpunk City by artist Martina of Nerdforge.

Today’s helping is another recommendation, and I have to tell you, I was absolutely mesmerized while watching the time lapse video of its creation. The link to that time lapse can be found here, but I also found another video on YouTube where the artist, Martina of Nerdforge, goes into more detail about the process required to create Cyberpunk City. Both videos are worth a watch, but personally, I loved the time lapse. It gives a wonderful sense of the time, effort, and talent that went into this artwork. It also reveals the three different looks that are achieved by using UV and glow in the dark paint. I didn’t even know that this was possible, but it’s an incredibly cool technique. I would love to have one of these paintings on my wall someday.

I had never heard of Nerdforge prior to being sent this video, but a quick glance through their list of videos on their YouTube channel reveals an astonishing range of artworks that they have created over time. And it’s not just paintings. There’s videos of dioramas, cosplay, lanterns, and wine goblets. There’s even leather bound books and fantasy castles. But my personal favourite was this video, showing how to make a portal to an infinite library within a bookshelf. Everyone take note. My birthday is in September and I want one. Please.
