Today’s daily helping is yet another rec, and I continue to be blown away by the art and artists who come to me this way. It is always a wonderful reminder that there is so much art out there, just waiting to be discovered. Art like the photographs of Ming Smith. Ming Smith is an artist who was the first Black woman photographer to be included in the collections at the MoMA in New York City. She works primarily in black and white street photography, and her photos are stunning. At least, in my opinion they are. They are all beautiful, but I was particularly drawn to the photo above. There’s something about the framing that is so striking, and the dancer is gorgeous. I can only imagine that she is stunning onstage as well.
Thank you again for sending in all of your recs. Keep them coming! Please.
