Alex Kochan is an artist and LGBTQ activist in Lithuania whose work often focuses on gender and sexuality. Shocker that I was immediately drawn to his work, I know. There’s just so much to love about his portfolio, especially the bold colours and silhouettes. But I particularly love the image above. Of course, the colour is one of my favourites. But I also love how one image can say so much depending on the lens of the viewer. What could easily be an image of community and connection for one person could also be an image of isolation and alienation for another. It’s the great paradox of the digital age, and I find it fascinating. I can’t wait to see more of this incredible artist’s work.
